20 Dec '07 - Digital Light Box Lite Plus

In response to feedback from our customers, we have recently launched Digital Light Box Lite Plus. The product has been developed with the aim of being the most affordable on the market while being specially designed for being used by professional radiographers with minimum amount of training.

The main features of this software tool are:

* graphical interface and operation simulate a conventional light-box to make the film-digital transition as simple as possible;
* tools for image manipulation (magnification/zoom, rotation, scroll), adjustment ( brightness, contrast), analysis (texture, 3D maps, edge detection, sharpness, gamma correction)
* allows analysis of small areas in detail using a virtual loupe (max. 40X magnification) and by applying image transformation on the parts of the image you consider of interest
* calibration of object size and thickness (based upon image density) to allow measurements to be made from the radiographic images
* allows manual mark-up of welds
* supports 16 bits .tiff images as well as .jpg and .xyz image formats.

7 Feb '07 - Digital Light Box Lite launched online

With the aim of making the transition from analog to digital radiography easier, Tomorad launches Digital Light Box(R) Lite, younger brother of the Digital Light Box(R), a user-friendly viewer of weld radiographs in digital format.

Has an intuitive interface, similar to a conventional light box, whereby a multifunctional volume knob is used to adjust image brightness and contrast, as well as to scroll along the weld or to zoom in to better view image artifacts.

It works with .jpg format, which is the most popular image format for offline and online use.

15 Sep '06 - Saipem

Saipem have recently completed a trial/evaluation of the TōmōRad Digital radiography system at their welding/NDT centre at Cortemaggiore, Italy. The trial included a comparison of Phosphor plates manufactured by Kodak, FujiFilm and GE/Agfa.

The trial provided invaluable feed-back which will allow us to focus on area in which the software can be improved.

1 Jul '06 - SGS

SGS Gottfeld NDT Services Gmbh, Bremen, Germany have been awarded a contract by Acergy for non-destructive testing services during the fabrication of double-joints for the Statoil – Tryhans Project. The demanding service conditions call for the use of clad/bi-metallic pipe. SGS are planning to use Aerogel weld-blankets to allow NDE of the root and hot-passes prior to continuing to fill-out the weld.

1 Jun '06 - GE Inspection Technologies

During June GE Inspection Technologies conducted a series of tests to evaluate the performance of the Aerogel weld-blankets at their laboratory in Berchem, Belgium. Exposures were made on steel samples with and without the blankets) using 123kV up to 300 kV and IP plates scanned at 50 microns. The results of the tests demonstrated:

- no interference with the image quality
- no degradation in Signal/Noise ratio

The tests further confirmed that the silicon coated blankets are durable and easy to handle.

31 Mar '06 - Commercial beta-version of Digital Light-Box® launched

TōmōRAD took delivery of the latest version of the Digital Light-Box® from their software partner iMediaSoft, Bucharest. The Digital Light-Box® offers both an intuitive user interface backed by sophisticated weld analysis software to make the switch to digital radiography painless.

24 Mar '06 - TōmōRAD commence pre-qualification trials for Socotherm

TōmōRAD supplied equipment and software to Socotherm in Vitoria, Brazil to undertake pre-qualification testing and a full evaluation of the system. Socotherm are undertaking double-joint fabrication and J-lay collar insertion for Acergy (formerly Stolt Offshore) for the BP Angola – Greater Plutonio Project (Block 18). Trials will be undertaken using both Iridium - Ir92 and Selenium – Se75 sources in order to fully qualify the Radiographic technique.

14 Nov '05 - www.tomorad.com

Following the official launch of the Company, we have used this occasion to launch our web-site and formally commence operations from our administrative office in Den Haag, the Netherlands. The launch of the web-site also coincides with the official release of our pipe weld analysis software which we hope we will “field-test” on our first project in the near future (watch this space for news).
